Sue Ellen Rice

Sue Ellen Rice, 80, of Callahan, FL passed away Saturday, October 17 at the Warner Center in Fernandina Beach, FL.  She was born February 25, 1940 in Flovilla, GA to the late Ernest and Lucy Vickers Smith.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Callahan, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Jerry Henderson Rice; 3-sisters:  Frances Ann Smith, Virginia Walker, and Georgia Dodd and a brother:  Robert Smith.

She is survived by her children:  Dr. Kenneth Rice and Karen (Don) Brydon; grandchildren:  A.J. Rice, Erin Rice and Megan Johnson; 2-sisters:  Pat Chambers and Peggy Wolfe and a brother:  Larry Smith.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 20 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 21 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Justin Chambers officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules of social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service.   Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
