Delores Davis

September 14, 1934 — March 11, 2021

M. Delores Terrell Davis met Jesus on March 11, 2021 in Fernandina Beach, FL.  She was born September 14, 1934 in Yulee, FL to the late D.W. Terrell and Louise E. Thompson Terrell.  She was Valedictorian of her class at Yulee High School before the school’s conversion.  She could often be heard singing her favorite songs, “How Great Thou Art” and “I’m Proud To Be An American” before being taken by her illness.  She exemplified a servant’s heart by her love and gentle compassion she expressed to encourage others.  She loved tending her flowers and beach walking.  She was a faithful member of Ephesus Baptist Church.  She worked with Gold Kist in accounting for 20 years and developed many friendships before the company sold.  She retired from the Florida Department of Health.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years:  J. Lester Davis; and a brother:  Alvin Terrell.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of the last 19 years:  Dennis Davis of Hilliard, FL; 2-children:  Ricky (Debbie) Davis and Brenda (Tim) Moyers of Hilliard, FL; 4-grandchildren and 4-great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends that will cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 15 at Ephesus Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Marvin Lee officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.

A very special thank you to Community Hospice Staff, Carries Florist and the support of family and friends.

Due to Covid-19, the family would like to ask all attendees to please follow the rules of social distancing and face masks are recommended at the service.  Also, anyone that does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest registry at www.shepardfh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home, 526 Oakwood Street, Folkston, Georgia 31537.
