Marjorie Gail Harrington, 70, of Hilliard, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 9, 2019. Mrs. Harrington was born January 20, 1948 in Gastonia, NC to the late William Bowlin, Sr. and Faye Laverne Early Bowlin. She was a 1966 graduate of Ashley High School in Gastonia. After completing high school, she attended Southern Academy of Medical Technology, and earned her certification as a Lab Technician in 1967. For the last 23 years, she served alongside her husband as a Pastor’s wife. She had a testimony like the Apostle Paul who said in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Rev. Curtis Harrington; 3 children: Shannon Harrington (Deborah), of Nutley, NJ, Dawn Colley (Doug) of Callahan, FL, Todd Harrington, of Hilliard, FL; 3 sisters: Becky Ballard (Anthony), of Stanley, NC, Cindy Hughes (Gary), of Bessemer, NC, Melody Crouse, of Lincolnton, NC; a brother: Bill Bowlin (Diane), of Chatham, VA; 10 grandchildren, Daniel Harrington, Rosa Harrington, Isabel Harrington, Abigail Colley, Jude Colley, Isaac Harrington, Ethan Harrington, Amber Harrington, Brayden Harrington, Cadie Harrington; 3 brothers-in-law: Tom Harrington (Linda) of Gary, TX, Mark Harrington (Cathy) of Henderson, TX, Joel Harrington (Barb) of Holland, MI; a sister-in-law: Ruthann Smith (Bob) of Campbell, TX and a host of other relatives.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 13 at Buford Grove Baptist Church from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14 at 11:00 AM at Buford Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Thrift and Rev. Mike Pruitte officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
